Welcome to Hamilton Township and our home on the web. I have lived in Hamilton for 33 years. As one of its most ardent citizens, I can affirm with confidence how wonderful a place Hamilton is in which to live, work, play and raise a family. In covering nearly 40-square miles and serving 90,000 plus people we maintain our position as a community of neighborhoods embracing a wide array of ethnicity. Our beautifully maintained commons are steeped in the tradition of unique family and community values.
Residents, new comers and tourists interested in knowing more about Hamilton are invited to be regular visitors to this web site. We intend to keep it up to date, relevant and useful especially for those who wish to stay in touch with our team of dedicated public servants. We will ensure that doing business with Hamilton will be an inviting condition at all times.
We gather as a community at sporting events in our magnificent parks and recreational facilities. Families and friends meet regularly at our many and varied community events. Shopping has been raised to a new level within our commercial districts including the Hamilton Marketplace and the pending arrival of the Shoppes at Hamilton. Economic Development strategies will be an important focal point as we seek to attract interesting new salient proposals leading to a stronger economy, new jobs and tax benefits. Our fully developed infrastructure is highlighted by a very convenient and attractive train station and access to all the super highways like the NJ Turnpike and Interstate Highways 95 and 295. Some have noted that there are no traffic lights between Hamilton and New York City or Miami. We give new meaning to the age old real estate catchphrase … location, location, location.
Hamilton is home to the nationally acclaimed Grounds for Sculpture, a 35 acre sculpture park, and Sayen Gardens, the site of our annual Azalea Festival where colors explode while offering a fresh scent to the coming of Spring. Our history dates back to 1686 when we were organized as the Town of Nottingham. Several historic sites provide an appreciation of the past while reminding us of our historical significance. The classically famous Kuser Mansion, Abbott House, Civil War and Native Museum, Isaac Watson House, Isaac Pierson House and the quaint Grafton House are ready for visits from our residents and guests from far away places.
As Mayor, I urge Hamilton citizens to let us know how you feel and what your vision is for our future. If you are a private enterprise or organization interested in locating or expanding in Hamilton I am prepared to listen to your Comments and Suggestions. We are the 8th largest municipality in the State of New Jersey and I intend to serve tirelessly with great pride and purpose. I look forward to meeting as many residents and prospective new residents as possible. I hope you will plan to visit me at our Municipal Building where you will be assured of a strong, accountable and transparent government. One thing is clear … I will not lose sight of the fact that I work for you. With your guidance and interest Hamilton Township we will truly be a town of the people and for the people.
