Mayor Yaede and Former NFL All-Pro Jessie Armstead Visit Hamilton Revolution Pop Warner Football
The young athletes taking part in today’s free Hamilton Pop Warner Youth Football camp took a short break from practice thanks to two surprise visitors.
Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede invited notable Hamiltonian and former NFL All-Pro, Jessie Armstead, to Ralston Field in Hamilton Township, where both the former New York Giant – who remains with the organization as a Special Assistant of Player Development, as well as co-owner of the Hamilton Honda automotive dealership – and Mayor Kelly Yaede spoke with the young athletes for a few moments.
“It was very generous of Jessie to take time out of his busy schedule to visit and speak with some of our local athletes taking part in Pop Warner Football and learning the game,” said Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede. “His message of hard work, which led him to be a success on and off the field, is inspiring for the children of our community and the young athletes who, one day, may follow in Jessie’s footsteps and play professional football.”
Mayor Yaede also spoke to players about how sports helped her learn the importance of teamwork and perseverance, which have helped guide her in her professional career.
“The importance of teamwork is a life lesson that can extend from the football field into any professional career. Every day, as Mayor, I work with and depend on an administrative team and a team of dedicated Township employees to help serve our community’s nearly 90,000 residents and maintain a high quality of life for all of our families and neighbors,” said Mayor Yaede.
After speaking with the young athletes, both Armstead and Mayor Yaede took time for a few questions from the football camp attendees, before they returned to the field.
