2/10/2010 - Hamilton Township Municipal Government Offices will be Closed on Thursday, February 11, 2010

Hamilton Township Municipal Government Offices will be Closed on Thursday, February 11, 2010

With continuing snowfall accumulations expected to reach upwards of 18 inches for Hamilton and surrounding areas before the end of today's storm, all Hamilton Township Municipal Government Offices, including the Municipal Court and Public Library, as well as all Hamilton Township Public Schools, will be closed on Thursday, February 11, 2010.

Residents are asked to continue to use caution during this storm.  All vehicles parked alongside Township roads should be moved into driveways or onto properties to assist the Township's plowing efforts.

Today's storm has caused ice to form on electric wires in some areas, which have led to power outages in parts of our community.  Residents are urged to prepare themselves for the possibility of futher power outages (such as with flashlights, etc).

Because Friday, February 12 and Monday, February 15 are scheduled holidays, the next official day that Municipal Government Offices will be open to the public is on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.  Township employees should visit the Township website for further instructions on operations and payrolll issues.  Essential Township Employees should continue with their routine proceedures.

Because of the closings, the Township's tax payment grace period will be extended to Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

Further updates, including information on rescheduled residential garbage and recycling collection will be placed on the Township's website ( as soon as it is determined.

We will also continue to provide residents with updates on our Township website, and in our e-mail notifications that residents can sign-up to receive.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during this winter storm.
