Hamilton to Hold September 11th Remembrance Ceremony

Hamilton Township will hold its annual September 11th remembrance ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at the September 11th Memorial Grove inside the Klockner Road Entrance of Veterans Park.

The ceremony will include the participation of Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly Yaede, Hamilton Fire Chief Mark Antozzeski, Col. (Ret.) Frank Caprario of the Hamilton Township Patriotic Committee, Father John Chang of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, the Hamilton Township Police and Fire Honor Guards, the Hamilton Township Fire Department Pipe & Drum Band and several other members of Hamilton’s Police, Fire and Emergency Management personnel communities.  Additionally, the Steinert High School Select Choir, under the direction of Mr. Richard Schneider, will perform as part of the ceremony.

“Our nation will never forget the tragedy of September 11th and those we lost that day, as well as the continuing service and sacrifices made by our first responders,” says Mayor Kelly Yaede.  “I invite residents to join us for our annual September 11th remembrance ceremony or, if unable to, visit our beautiful September 11th Memorial Grove during Septemberfest.”

Hamilton’s Memorial Grove area, the location of the ceremony, holds a Steel Beam from the World Trade Center, as well as a Fire Fighter monument and a memorial to the Hamilton residents we lost on September 11, 2001 (William Reed Bethke, Daniel Leonard Maher, Susan L. Schuler and        Jeannine Damiani-Jones).

Because limited seating will be available for the ceremony, attendees are encouraged to arrive early or bring lawn chairs.

In the event that inclement weather on September 11th causes the formal ceremony to be cancelled, a Memorial Wreath will be placed at the Memorial Grove as soon as weather permits.
