Winter Storm Update

Secondary Road Plowing Begins

Tuesday Afternoon, January 27

ü  PLOWING SECONDARY ROADS BEGINS

The plowing of secondary (neighborhood) roads began shortly after noontime today (Tuesday) and will continue until all roads have been plowed.

ü  PLEASE REMOVE AUTOMOBILES FROM ROAD CURBSIDES, IF POSSIBLE, AS A COURTESY TO OUR PLOW DRIVERS

Leaving automobiles parked along road curbsides will negatively impact plowing efforts (makes plowing take longer, clears less of the road, and leaves more snow in road following plowing).

PLEASE REMOVE ALL AUTOMOBILES FROM ROAD CURBSIDES, if possible, and park in your driveway or on your property until after your road is plowed.

ü  SNOW PLOW SAL APP

The feature gives an estimation (plowing may occur prior to the listed time) of when your street (secondary road) will be plowed.  The application is now live.  Remember to enter your house number when entering your address.

ü  PREVENT DRIVEWAYS BEING PLOWED BACK IN

Waiting until after your road is plowed to shovel your driveway apron is the best way to avoid your driveway being plowed back in.  If you chose to shovel your driveway apron before your road is plowed, the diagram in the following link is a helpful guide: http://www.hamiltonnj.com/filestorage/83873/84056/How-to-Plow-Your-Driveway-Apron.pdf
