2/15/2015 - Secondary Road Plowing - Sunday Afternoon, February 15th

Secondary Road Plowing to Take Place

Sunday Afternoon, February 15th

ü  PLOWING SECONDARY ROADS BEGINS

The plowing of secondary (neighborhood) roads will begin at approximately 12:30 PM today (Sunday) in an attempt to clear as much snow from the roads as possible, due to the sub-freezing temperatures and forecast for additional snow later this week. Due to high winds today, snow drifting will occur.  Roads will not be down to pavement due to blowing snow and cold temps.

ü  PLEASE REMOVE AUTOMOBILES FROM ROAD CURBSIDES, IF POSSIBLE, AS A COURTESY TO OUR PLOWING CREWS

To assist our plowing crews, please remove all automobile from the road/road curbsides if possible.  This will help our plowing crews complete plowing faster and remove more snow from the road.

When residents leave automobiles parked along the road/road curbsides, it takes longer for plows to safely and carefully navigate around the vehicles, as well as leaves more snow that remains on the road.

ü  SNOW PLOW SAL APP

The feature gives an estimation (plowing may occur prior to the listed time) of when your street (secondary road) will be plowed.  The application is now live.  Remember to enter your house number when entering your address.

ü  PREVENT DRIVEWAYS BEING PLOWED BACK IN

Waiting until after your road is plowed to shovel your driveway apron is the best way to avoid your driveway being plowed back in.  If you chose to shovel your driveway apron before your road is plowed, the diagram in the following link is a helpful guide: http://www.hamiltonnj.com/filestorage/83873/84056/How-to-Plow-Your-Driveway-Apron.pdf
