7/31/2015 - Police Notice - Burglaries - Whitehorse Ave & Moffat Ave. - July 2015

BURGLARIES / THEFTS

Hamilton, NJ -- On Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 3:53 a.m., Officers Jordan Kostoplis and David Warrick were detailed to a home on the 300 block of Whitehorse Avenue on a burglary. While en route, officers were advised by police dispatch that the calling party stated that someone was in her house. When officers arrived, the home owner spoke with them through a bedroom window stating that an unknown person was in her house. Officers entered the residence through an opened front door in an attempt to locate the suspect. No suspect was located after checking the interior and exterior of the home. The victim reported that she was sleeping and woke up and saw a white male in her bedroom and ran downstairs into her mother’s room locking the door while calling the police. The victim described the suspect as a white male, 25 years old, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a royal blue tee shirt. She was not able to provide a height or weight. A total of $30.00 dollars in cash was taken from the victim’s purse. Entry into the home was made through an unlocked window.

Hamilton, NJ -- On Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 1:50 a.m., Officers Patrick Guido and Brian DiBiasi were dispatched to a residence on Moffat Avenue on a report of a burglary with the suspect threating the resident with a handgun. Upon their arrival, officers were met by the victim who told the officers that she came home and heard a noise in the kitchen. She opened the door leading to the rear porch and saw someone standing in the enclosed porch. The victim thought the person was her brother and in a playful manner hit the male with her purse and asked what was he doing. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim’s head and told her to shut up and don’t move. The victim screamed and ran out of the kitchen as the suspect ran out the front door in an unknown direction with the victim’s purse. Family members who were upstairs sleeping all stated they heard the victim scream but did not see anything. The suspect is described as a black male, clean shaven head, unshaven face, medium brown skin color, 30 years old, 5’8" tall, 200 to 210 pounds wearing a lime green tee shirt, gray pants. Entry was made through an unlocked window.
