Follow Hamilton Township News and Updates on Facebook
Mayor John Bencivengo has been working to help keep residents informed on the latest news, events and information on government efforts to serve the people of Hamilton Township. Already this year, the Township has embarked upon an effort to interact and communicate with residents through an increasingly popular, convenient and cost-effective means – the Internet. Hamilton Township has increased the frequency of updates on its website (www.HamiltonNJ.com), expanded its electronic Newsletter service in which residents can sign-up to receive updates sent directly to their personal e-mail accounts, and now is giving residents an additional way to keep informed of important information – a newly created Township Facebook account.
Accessible through a link on the Township’s website or directly via http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=105710049459842, Mayor Bencivengo hopes the new Facebook account will serve as another effective tool to provide information, transparency and accountability to the community. While it was just recently created, the Township’s Facebook account already has nearly 630 members.
“Not only is Facebook a great way to provide residents with information quickly and conveniently, there is no cost to the taxpayers for this service,” explains Mayor Bencivengo. “As Mayor, I want to do everything that I can to keep our community informed. And in these times when we are facing reductions in revenues from the State, and are forced to reduce our expenditures, there is not a more cost-effective way of communicating with residents than through a means like Facebook.”
