Mayor Nominates Corporate Communications Director of Local Non-Profit to Hamilton Township Economic Development Commission

In continuing Hamilton’s economic development efforts, Mayor Kelly Yaede has nominated a Corporate Communications Director of a local non-profit to serve on Hamilton’s Economic Development Advisory Commission.

Yaede has nominated Hamilton resident and Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Grants for the Hamilton Area YMCA, Gretchen DiMarco.

DiMarco has worked to provide strategic leadership in community relations for the Hamilton Area YMCA, developed and directed the YMCA’s marketing communications plan, as well as managed the non-profit’s grant program.  Additionally, she serves as a member of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton Foundation, as part of its Young Professionals Group.

DiMarco is a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Development of Mercer County. Previously she served as an Associate Executive Director for a national women’s education-based fraternal organization with over 175,000 members and also worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey where she coordinated agency partnerships with community-based non-profit organizations and worked on special events.  DiMarco holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising Management from Syracuse University.

“With my background and experience in community relations and marketing, I look forward to working with the Commission to achieve the Mayor’s goals of promoting tourism and ensuring a thriving business community here in Hamilton,” DiMarco said.  “Mayor Yaede has made it clear that economic growth and maintaining an open dialogue with local business leaders are top priorities for her administration, and I would like to thank her for this nomination.”

“Gretchen’s experience and professionalism in working with businesses and community stakeholders, combined with her background in advertising management and communications, will be of great benefit to our efforts to promote economic opportunities across our township and capitalize upon our local tourism potential,” explains Mayor Yaede.

DiMarco’s nomination will be presented to the Township Council for final approval in the coming weeks.

The Hamilton Township Economic Development Advisory Commission serves as a volunteer, advisory body to the Mayor through interaction with the Hamilton’s Economic Development Department.   The Commission seeks to offer information, insight, and advice regarding the economic growth and stability in Hamilton, assist in business attraction, retention and expansion, as well as holds annual events seeking to support and recognize local businesses.
