Hamilton Announces New Environmental Awards Program; Calls for Applications

Just in time for Earth Day, Hamilton is announcing a new environmental awards program.

Mayor Kelly Yaede and Hamilton’s Environmental Commission have announced the start of the Hamilton Township Environmental Awards program and are calling for applicants – whether a Hamilton business, non-profit agency, resident, school, student or even governmental agencies – that have either fully implemented or completed a project or program in Hamilton that has improved sustainability our environment.

The goal of the program is to promote environmental sustainability efforts by recognizing the people and projects that are working to improve our Hamilton’s local environment.

“This new program is a great way to recognize those who have worked to improve our environment and to encourage others to consider new ways to help our community achieve a more sustainable future,” says Mayor Kelly Yaede.  “I want to thank the dedicated members of our Environmental Commission for undertaking this new awards program.”

Hamilton will announce the inaugural class of environmental award winners at this year’s new community event, Oktoberfest, and hold a formal awards ceremony later in 2016.
