Hamilton Holds Free Rabies Clinic for Residents’ Dogs and Cats on Wednesday, June 1st

Mayor Kelly Yaede is inviting residents to take advantage of Hamilton’s upcoming free rabies immunization clinic for their dogs and cats.

Hamilton Township will hold its next free rabies immunization clinic on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the McManimon Township Building located at 320 Scully Avenue, between the hours of 5 PM and 7 PM.

Note for Directions: The McManimon Building at 320 Scully Avenue is located off of Olden Avenue, between Liberty Street and Cedar Lane, opposite the Olden Pharmacy.

As a courtesy, Hamilton’s rabies clinics are open to pets of Township residents only (proof of residency is required), and are free of charge.

“Our free rabies clinics help to protect our pets and public health,” explains Mayor Kelly Yaede. “I urge residents in need of rabies immunizations for their dogs or cats to take advantage of our upcoming free clinic.”

For residents utilizing this Township service, all dogs must be leashed.  As a safety precaution, dogs should be muzzled, if necessary.  All cats must arrive in a carrier.

In response to the rabies epidemic in our wildlife, the New Jersey Department of Health Policy requires the immunization of dogs every 2 years, even if the inoculation is good for a 3 year period.

Following the June 1st clinic, Hamilton Township is scheduled to hold its final rabies clinic of the year on September 7, 2016.
