This week, Hamilton Township and its Economic Development Advisory Commission presented their annual scholarship awards to three Hamilton high school seniors.

Steinert’s Ericka Aguilar, Nottingham’s Grace Dwyer and Hamilton West’s Victoria Bezek each received a $750 scholarship towards their college educations from Hamilton’s Economic Development Advisory Commission.  The scholarships are funded from private (non-taxpayer) dollars generated by annual commission events.  Mayor Kelly Yaede and Councilman Ralph Mastrangelo also presented proclamations to the award winners.

The annual scholarship program is open to Hamilton Township high school seniors who will be pursuing a college degree in a business-related field.  One student is chosen from each high school by the school’s own Guidance Department in accordance to the scholarship program’s criteria.  An emphasis is also placed upon community service activities.

“Our award recipients not only represent the type of young adults in our community that will continue onto successful careers, but also represent the future business leaders of our community who will help continue supporting job opportunities for future generations of Hamiltonians,” explains Mayor Kelly Yaede.  “I want to congratulate them, as well as thank our dedicated Economic Development Advisory Commission for their continued dedication and commitment to supporting the continued education of our students such as this year’s award winners.”

The Hamilton Township Economic Development Advisory Commission serves as a volunteer, advisory body to the Mayor through interaction with the Hamilton’s Economic Development Department.   The Commission seeks to offer information, insight, and advice regarding the economic growth and stability in Hamilton, assist in business attraction, retention and expansion, as well as holds annual events seeking to support and recognize local businesses.
