3rd Quarter Property Taxes Due,
Grace Period Extended to August 18th
Assessment Calculated into this Tax Bill
Hamilton residents and property owners are
reminded that 3rd Quarter Property Tax Payments are due on August 1, 2016; however due to the mailing date of tax bills, Hamilton's
10-day grace period to avoid interest has
been extended to close
of the Township business day on Thursday, August 18, 2016, to make 3rd
Quarter Property Tax Payments without
incurring a late fee.
New Assessment Calculated into this Tax Bill
The Mercer County Board of Taxation ordered Hamilton Township to
complete a revaluation process by this year.
This is because New Jersey law mandates that real estate be assessed at
100% of market value and in an equitable manner.
Earlier this year, each property owner was sent a notice of their
new assessment via mail. However, the
new assessment was not yet calculated into property tax bills (that were due in
February 2016 and May 2016).
Therefore, this is the first bill in which your new assessment is
calculated into your property tax payment.
As a result, you may notice a difference in your property taxes from
your prior bills.
