Emergency Management Response Exercise Conducted in
Hamilton This Morning (Wednesday, August 24, 2016)

An emergency preparedness response exercise, initiated by Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), in coordination with the Hamilton Township Fire Districts and Police Department and Hamilton’s Office of Emergency Management took place this morning (Wednesday, August 24, 2016) in the area of Lamont Avenue.

The purpose of the exercise was to simulate a response to gas leak in a residential area in coordination with first responders.

Prior to the exercise, PSE&G provided notice to residents in the immediate area.

“The safety of our residents is always our top priority,” said Hamilton Mayor Kelly Yaede. “This gas drill gives Hamilton first responders and PSE&G employees real-world training to ensure we are able to launch a timely, coordinated and effective response in emergency situations.”
