Weather Advisory for Thursday, February 9, 2017

Despite Wednesday’s warm temperatures, an overnight storm system is expected to produce sleet and snow for our area beginning early Thursday morning (approximately 2 AM) with total snow accumulations of between 5 – 7 inches possible throughout Thursday.

Likely Storm Progression Timeline

At the time of this update, forecasts indicate the probability for the following:

·        Rainfall is likely to turn to a mixture of sleet and snow Thursday morning between 4 AM – 5 AM

·        Sleet and snow should continue through 7 AM – 8AM before turning entirely to snowfall, with moderate to heavy snowfall continuing through mid-day Thursday

o   For residents who must travel to work during peak morning commute times, please exercise caution

·        Light snowfall may continue throughout are area until sunset

Important Information

In anticipation of the need to plow neighborhood roads following the end of snowfall (and completion of primary roads):

·        We are voluntarily asking residents to NOT park along road curbsides (please move vehicles into driveways or onto properties, if possible) until plowing operations have been completed

o   Please note some roads (marked with signage) specifically prohibit parking during snowfall

·        Garbage collection has been cancelled for residents who normally have collection on Thursdays.  Those residents should place garbage out on their next, regularly scheduled collection day.

·        Should any other service be cancelled, a notice will be placed on HamiltonNJ.com (under “News & Announcements” Click Here ) and Hamilton’s official social media channels

·        For information regarding the plowing of neighborhood roads, visit: HamiltonNJ.com/SnowPlowSal – Click Here
