Mayor Helps Honor ‘Lala and Mimi’ Upon Receipt of President’s Volunteer Service Award
Lauren and Mackenzie Multari, known affectionately to family and friends as “Lala and Mimi” are two, young Hamiltonians who have given back to those in need and exemplified the meaning of community service.
During their years at Morgan Elementary School, Lauren and Mackenzie (now students at Reynolds Middle School) helped to collect and distribute pajamas to children in need through various “PJ drives.” In 2015, they started their own not-for-profit organization, “Lala & Mimi’s Pajama Project”, to continue their charitable efforts. Since then, they have helped collect and distribute over 3,800 pajamas for children in need.
Earlier this week, Mayor Kelly Yaede joined Morgan Elementary School Principal Regina McIntyre and the entire Morgan Elementary School community to celebrate Lauren and Mackenzie’s receipt of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, as part of a school community service assembly.
