Tax Bills Will Be Delayed Due to Finalization of State Education Aid
All Mercer County towns, including Hamilton, are currently unable
to mail property tax bills that would normally be due on August 1, 2017, due to
the ongoing finalization of state education aid following the delayed approval
of the State Budget (which could impact the Mercer County portion of residents’
Therefore, Hamilton Township
wants to inform residents of this delay and advise that the grace period for payment without late fees will be extended.
The new grace period must be
determined from the date that bills are mailed (although the tax bills must still list August 1st
as the “due date”).
Hamilton Township officials will
remain in contact with the Mercer County Tax Administrator’s Office so that we
can update residents as soon as possible.
Once finalized, Hamilton Township will publicly announce the new grace
period extension on its website (HamiltonNJ.com) and social media (Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram and E-mail Newsletter).
Also after finalization,
residents will be able to use HamiltonNJ.com/PayOnline to access property tax bill information and to make online payments.
