Important Notice for Garbage, Recycling and Snow Operations

Due to the increasing severity of Winter Storm Grayson, the
following procedures will be taking place for many services and
operations. We thank all residents for their patience and cooperation
with these procedures.
Recycling – responsibility of Mercer County Improvement Authority
Recycling Collection by the MCIA has been suspended today
(Thursday); however any resident that has not had their recycling items
collected yet this week (including missed collections from Wednesday) is asked
to place their recycling items curbside by 6 AM tomorrow morning (Friday,
January 5, 2018). The MCIA will be working to collect recycling items
through the weekend (one collection per zone). Please note this is a
change in procedure from an earlier notice.

Residents who normally receive garbage collection on
Thursday are asked to place their garbage items curbside by 6 AM tomorrow
morning (Friday, January 5, 2018). Please
note that this special procedure is taking place because these zones did not
receive garbage collection on New Year’s Day; and, thus, have not received
collection during the past week.
Garbage Collection will be CANCELLED for residents regularly
scheduled for Friday collection. These residents are asked to place their
garbage out on their next, scheduled collection date (Tuesday, January 9,
Affected residents have been notified via our ENS (Emergency
Notification System) of these changes.
Based upon the increasing severity of Winter Storm Grayson,
it is expected at the time of this notice (1:30 PM) that the plowing of
secondary roads will begin later this evening and continue overnight.
