Tax Bills Delayed Due to Finalization of State Education Aid
At the time of this notice (the morning
of July 10, 2018), towns across the state, including Hamilton Township, are
currently unable to print and mail property tax bills that would normally be
due on August 1, 2018. The delay is due
to the ongoing finalization of state education aid as part of the recently
approved State Budget. Therefore, Hamilton Township wants to
inform residents of the current delay in the mailing of property tax bills.
IF the current delay continues, it MAY require an extension of the grace period by which
property owners can avoid late fees (which is currently before the end of the
Township business day on Friday, August 10, 2018). SHOULD
that occur, Hamilton Township will issue
a public notice to provide updated information on our Township Website (HamiltonNJ.com) and on the Township’s social
Additionally, regardless of the
mailing date or possible grace period extensions, all bills will still list
August 1st as the “due date” (which is the date by State Law).
Also after finalization, residents will be able to use HamiltonNJ.com/PayOnline to access
property tax bill information and to make online payments.
