Mayor Yaede Joins US Conference of Mayors Water Council;
 Hopes Participation Can Assist Trenton Water Related Issues

Mayor Kelly Yaede has joined to the US Conference of Mayors – Mayors Water Council and is hoping that her participation can help deliver results for residents when it comes to water quality issues.

Hamilton’s Mayor recently participated in a session with the Water Council during the recent US Conference of Mayor’s Winter Meeting, leading her to apply to officially join the group.

According to its website, the Mayors Water Council’s primary purpose is to “assist local governments in providing high quality water resources in a cost effective manner.”

Additionally, the Water Council provides a forum for sharing information on a variety of water-related issues and topics, as well as monitors federal legislation, regulations and proposals.

“Considering the ongoing issues related to Trenton Water Works, I hope that my participation in the Mayors Water Council will help to make a positive difference for our community’s residents and in ensuring quality drinking water,” says Mayor Yaede.  “I look forward to discussing new ideas, legislative changes and even possible financing alternatives that might be able to benefit Trenton Water Works and its future infrastructure projects.”

The Water Council officially started in 1995 according to the US Conference of Mayors’ website.

The US Conference of Mayors is a non-partisan organization that represents cities with a population over 30,000 residents.  Participating cities are represented by their respective Mayors.
