Hamilton Mayor Jeff Martin Nominates New Municipal Judges
Hamilton Township Mayor Jeff Martin has nominated a new Presiding Judge and Assistant Judge to serve as part of his administration.
Mayor Martin has selected Louis S. Sancinito, Esq. for the position of Presiding Judge, who joins the Administration with over three decades of legal experience.
Most recently, Sancinito served as a Senior Instructor at Garden State Continuing Legal Education. Previously, he served as a Municipal Prosecutor and Chief Judge in the City of Trenton, with a combined 23 years of municipal law experience. Additionally, he also has recently served as a public defender in Lawrence, West Windsor and Hamilton Township.
"I am extremely honored and humbled by Mayor Martin's selection of me to be the new Presiding Judge in the Hamilton Township Municipal Court. I look forward to working with Judge Ellington, and the Hamilton Township Court Staff to bring fair, and impartial justice to the Court which all citizens of Hamilton Township, Mercer County and the State of New Jersey richly deserve. I look forward to getting started on this new journey, and promise to always give my best effort in achieving the goals of justice in the Hamilton Township Municipal Court, and hope the Mayor and the Township Council will be proud of the work that we do in the Court in the future."
For the position of Assistant Judge, Mayor Martin has selected Shelia D. Ellington, Esq. Shelia comes to Hamilton Township with more than 20 years’ experience as an accomplished attorney and prosecutor.
Ellington is a small business owner at The Law Offices of Shelia D. Ellington. She also has served as the Assistant Municipal Prosecutor in Cherry Hill, the Prosecutor in Woodlynne Boro Municipal Court, as Chief Municipal Prosecutor and Hearing Officer in the Township of Irvington, Prosecutor in Mount Holly, and Chief Municipal Prosecutor in the City of Plainfield. Additionally, she has held the position of Deputy Attorney General with the Division of Criminal Justice and Assistant Prosecutor with the Union County Prosecutors Office. Most recently, Ellington was also appointed Associate Judge in Franklin Township.

Both Shelia and Louis are expected to begin their positions February 1st, 2020.
