Leaf Collection Update for Township Residents
Due to the unprecedented amount of storm-related debris from Hurricane Sandy, Hamilton Township's Public Works crews are just completing the first cycle of removing fallen tree limbs, branches and leaves from the curbsides of Hamilton's 625 lane miles of local roads since the storm impacted our community. Now, Hamilton's Department of Public Works will begin revisiting township roads for a second time to collect gutter leaves and brush that were placed curbside following crew's first collection cycle.
Due to State of New Jersey regulations, it is very important to adhere to the revised gutter leaf schedule and NOT place leaves curbside prior to seven (7) days before curbside pick-up and not closer than ten (10) feet from a stormwater drain.
In addition to curbside pick-up, residents can place leaves curbside in open bags or open containers with handles for pickup by Public Works. Bags must be left open and weigh less than 50 lbs.
Additionally, leaves can be taken to the Ecological Facility all year. Commercial vehicles or trailers larger than 4 ft. X 8 ft. are charged a fee based on yardage and materials.
