Mayor Yaede Announces Partnership with RWJ Hamilton for Greater Emergency Ambulance Coverage
Today, Hamilton Township Mayor Kelly A. Yaede announced a recent partnership with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton and the Robert Wood Johnson Health System that added an additional ambulance to RWJ Hamilton’s fleet in order to provide additional emergency coverage for the residents of Hamilton Township.
“A recent review of our emergency service needs showed that Hamilton Township was becoming more reliant on mutual aid from other towns to cover peak hours,” said Mayor Yaede. “Based upon that review I reached out to RWJ Hamilton President and CEO Skip Cimino to see what could be done to alleviate this issue and provide greater service to Hamilton’s residents,” Yaede continued. “Mr. Cimino and RWJ Hamilton accepted our review and generously agreed to add an additional ambulance to its fleet to provide the emergency ambulance service Hamilton requires.”
“In an emergency situation, every minute counts,” Cimino said. “Increasing the fleet allows RWJ Hamilton and our health system to provide an even greater level of service to residents and further fulfills our commitment to providing excellent emergency care.”
“I would like to thank RWJ Hamilton for recognizing our community’s need and for agreeing to supplement its ambulance fleet at no cost to Hamilton’s taxpayers,” Mayor Yaede commented. “Partnerships such as this are important in that they allow public and private officials to work together to deliver the services residents and patients need without placing an additional tax burden on residents,” Yaede concluded.
