Weather Update from Mayor Kelly Yaede (Friday, January 3rd at 12 PM Noon):
“As anticipated, plowing of our secondary roads will begin at Noon to help make these neighborhood roads passable. With temperatures still forecasted to remain well below freezing, in addition to plowing snow, salting may not melt all of the packed snow. Therefore, residents may not see blacktop on our secondary or neighborhood roads until temperatures rise.
It is helpful if residents can move their automobiles from road curbsides, which will help prevent the inadvertent plowing in of parked vehicles and allow plowing operations to reach our fellow neighbors on other roadways sooner.
Also, if residents are able to, shoveling out nearby fire hydrants is helpful to our fire personnel should an emergency occur.
I want to thank residents again for their patience. Please know that our dedicated Township crews are doing their best to make our neighborhoods passable as quickly and safely as possible. With our over 625 lane miles of roads and current snow accumulations, this will take time, but please know that our Township crews are working hard to serve us all.
Please continue to exercise caution and, if possible, refrain from traveling.”
Kelly Yaede, Mayor
