Winter Weather / Wind Chill Advisory Notice from Mayor Kelly Yaede (Monday, January 06th at 4:30 PM)
“Despite unseasonably warm temperatures in our area this morning (Monday, January 6th), a ‘Wind Chill’ advisory has been issued for our region from approximately midnight (12:00 AM on Tuesday, January 7th) through 6 AM on Wednesday, January 8th.
Forecasts are advising that Wind Chill values could reach as low as approximately 15 degrees below zero, as a combination of both severe cold and strong and gusty wind (sustained winds of approximately 20 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph overnight) is likely.
Residents should refrain from, or significantly limit, outdoor exposure during this period of time, as prolonged exposure to this extent of severely cold and windy conditions may lead to hypothermia and frostbite.
We will continue to post any important updates on our Township website (www.HamiltonNJ.com) and social media sites (i.e. Facebook and Twitter) if it becomes necessary.
Please exercise caution during this time and refrain from outdoor exposure.”
