Delaware River Flood Advisory – Wednesday, January 08th at 12:30 PM
Due to an ice jam in the Delaware River near the City of Trenton, the Delaware River is currently at an elevated level. There is a possibility for flooding for areas near the Delaware River, such as the Duck Island area of Hamilton Township. Additionally, there have been road closures for roadways near the Delaware River (outside of Hamilton Township).
While at the time of this notice flooding appears to be possible for areas near or along the Delaware River, and not areas of Hamilton Township that are further from the river, Mayor Kelly Yaede and Hamilton Township’s Office of Emergency Management are monitoring the conditions closely. Residents and businesses that are in close proximity to the Delaware River are asked to take precautionary measures for the possibility of flooding. Should further updates be necessary, information will be posted on both the Hamilton Township website (www.HamiltonNJ.com) and Hamilton Township’s social media sites (on Facebook and Twitter).
Please exercise caution if you are or will be traveling in close proximity to the Delaware River and continue to monitor new sources for updates.
