Mayor Vows to Improve Township’s
Winter Snow Response Procedures
Hamilton Township Mayor John Bencivengo made the following statement today regarding the government’s recent response to snow events that impacted the community:
“Our government’s response to the last winter storm have not met any of our expectations and high standards for the level of service we need to be providing for our taxpayers. Therefore, I have directed the Department of Public Works to provide a planned strategy for clear communication and response for storms that hit in early morning hours.
“I am not interested in different departments pointing fingers or placing blame on why our response was not better, and neither are the 92,000 residents of our community. To me, that is completely unacceptable. As Mayor, the ‘buck stops with me’ and I take full responsibility for the end result of snow removal efforts, as well as all other Township services.
“We are currently reviewing all procedures relative to snow and improving those areas including clear communication when hazardous conditions begin to develop.
“In the end, the goal is for the taxpayers of Hamilton Township to receive quality service following winter storms. And as Mayor, I will work to make that goal a reality.”
