Winter Storm Update -- Dangerous Ice Conditions Possible for Tomorrow (Wednesday)
Winter Storm / Ice Advisory for Tuesday Evening/Wednesday Morning (February 4th/February 5th) - As of Noon, Tuesday
Plowing operations will continue on secondary roads throughout the day (Tuesday, February 4th) until ALL secondary roads have been plowed once. Since 5 PM on Monday evening, secondary plowing operations have completed almost 2/3rds of Hamilton's 425 lane miles secondary roads in 19 hours of secondary road plowing.
Following this storm, another very dangerous storm is likely to begin this evening (Tuesday evening) with additional snow that is likely to turn into Freezing Rain over night and into early Wednesday morning. The storm's progress remains fluid; therefore, residents are encouraged to continue monitoring weather forecasts throughout the day and evening.
DANGEROUS ICE CONDITIONS POSSIBLE: Up to a 1/4 inch of ice is possible from this storm at the time of this notice.
This storm has the potential to create extremely dangerous, Ice Conditions for the morning commuting hours on Wednesday Morning (February 5th), although the Township is preparing to apply salt to main township roads.
The upcoming storm also has the potential to create downed power lines and tree limbs, which can cause power outages. Residents should prepare for possible power outages in advance of this storm. Preparedness links will be posted, along with additional updates, on the Township's website and social media accounts.
