The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for several areas of New Jersey, including Mercer County, from Friday afternoon to late Friday evening (on May 16th). At the time of this notice, 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is possible, and may reach higher amounts in some areas. Flash flooding is possible along small rivers and streams, as well as in urban areas.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that could lead to flash flooding, which is a very dangerous situation.
Residents, especially those in close proximity to flood-prone areas, should continue to closely monitor weather reports and exercise caution.
