Juvenile Unit

The Juvenile Unit is comprised of Detectives who are specifically trained to respond to various types of juvenile matters. Most of the police involvement with juveniles is aimed to help youthful offenders and attempt to divert them away from formal court proceedings and more towards social and family support. The Detectives are familiar with local outreach programs and resources for juveniles and their families.

The Detectives are trained to conduct child forensic interviews and are the lead investigators in missing children investigations. Additionally, they investigate offenses committed by juveniles and crimes where the juvenile may be a victim, along with a host of many other responsibilities.

The Unit works closely with the Department of Children and Families, The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, the School Resource Officers, and many other organizations all in an attempt to keep our youth protected and guided into adulthood.
