Hamilton Township recently received an entire truckload (27 pallets) worth of surplus hotel supplies to donate to local non-profit organizations and surrounding Mercer County municipalities from Guest Supply, an organization that manufactures and sells items to hotels globally.
The donation, delivered on June 20th, included a wide range of essential items that were either overstocked or discontinued from Guest Supply. The majority of pallets donated consisted of sanitary products, including a total number of 37,440 Lysol Disinfecting Wipe packets. Among the sanitary and personal hygiene items generously provided by Guest Supply were:
- Conrad Hand Towels
- Lysol® Re-sealable Disinfecting Wipes
- Clorox® 4 in One Disinfectant & Sanitizer Spray
- Jade Dragon Travel Sized Shower Gel, Shampoo, and Conditioner
With the approval of Town Council, Hamilton Township in turn demonstrated its commitment to supporting the local community by donating most of these products to several local non-profit organizations and surrounding municipalities. The township recognizes the importance of collaboration and seizes any opportunity to assist those in need.
Thanks to Mayor Martin's collaborative efforts with a representative from Guest Supply, these products were carefully selected to address the needs of the community. By contacting local non-profit organizations such as TASK, Rescue Mission, Womanspace, Bromley/Wilson Center, CYO, and surrounding municipalities, Hamilton Township ensured that these surplus items were distributed effectively to organizations, and those they serve, that could benefit from them the most.
Mayor Martin expressed his gratitude for the collective effort in making this donation possible. "I want to thank Guest Supply for thinking of Hamilton for their very large and generous donation. Being able to distribute these items directly into our greater Mercer County community to those who need them most (homeless persons, domestic violence victims, and others), is the epitome of being a good neighbor.”
In addition to supporting the local community, this donation initiative aligns with Hamilton Township's broader efforts towards environmental sustainability and reducing waste. By repurposing these overstock items quickly, the disposal of enormous amounts of products was avoided.
The products selected by Mayor Martin and Justin from Guest Supply were chosen thoughtfully to meet the needs of the community during the ongoing pandemic. To ensure effective distribution to those who could benefit the most, Hamilton Township collaborated with local non-profit organizations such as TASK, Rescue Mission, Womanspace, Bromley/Wilson Center, CYO, and others. Thanks to these efforts, surplus items were provided to individuals in need.
