Hamilton Township Council President Charles “Chuddy” Whalen, Councilman Anthony Carabelli Jr., Councilwoman Nancy Phillips, Councilman Pat Papero, and Councilman Rick Tighe were present to welcome Wawa on Flock Rd. with a Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
Rob Keller will serve as general manager for the store, leading a team of approximately 50 associates. The store is fully equipped with a built-to-order fresh food kitchen featuring its signature hoagies and newest food innovations such as the customizable burger, award-winning Wawa coffee, the Sizzli, Wawa’s hot breakfast sandwich, and Wawa’s line of specialty beverages.
“We are happy to see a company like Wawa invest in our community,” said Mayor Martin.
Hamilton’s Wawa store comes ahead of the company’s plans to open up 76 new stores in the Mid-Atlantic and Florida regions in 2023. The chain plans to expand to the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana in the coming years.
Rather than a convenience chain, Wawa likes to think of itself as a “Kindness Chain of Stores,” where associates and customers have unique family-like relationships and simple gestures like holding the door for one another make a big difference in one’s day.
