Hamilton Township Mayor Jeff Martin and Councilman Anthony Carabelli were present to welcome Bent Iron Brewing with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Located on Extonville Road, Bent Iron Brewing will be Hamilton’s first Brewery. Founders Peter Brittian, Jon Kanuck, and David Sass are excited to break ground on the site, located on a 55-acre farm. Bent Iron is the result of an idea that came to life over beers shared during COVID by the three founders. The planning began when they realized they shared the same passion for making creative, consistent beers using farm-grown ingredients. They have hired the expertise of Dave Ascione as their Brew Master. As their plans become a reality, they aspire to create a truly unique destination experience by offering top-notch craft beers in a fun, welcoming, and wide-open farm setting.
“The craft brewery market in New Jersey has grown exponentially in recent years. I am thrilled that Bent Iron has chosen Hamilton for its location. Bent Iron will bring a fresh new life to our Hamilton economy by drawing in tourists and locals,” stated Mayor Jeff Martin.
Construction of the new 5,000-square-foot barn will begin immediately, which will house the beer production and a tasting taproom where beers brewed on-site will be available for sale. Additionally, the Brewery will have a sizable outdoor seating space with a walkable hop yard and fire pits. Bent Iron Brewing has partnered with Hanover Construction on the buildout of this effort. Bent Iron Brewery plans to open in the Fall of 2023.
