3/17/2020 - A Message from Mayor Jeff Martin - March 17, 2020

To my Fellow Hamiltonians –

Yesterday marked a new chapter in our collective fight against COVID-19, a foe we can’t see, smell or touch. We face this challenge not knowing when our fight will be over but knowing as a community and as a nation, we will get through this together.

Each and every day has presented new information, new questions and new decisions to make. We will continue to make every decision understanding the first priority is to keep all of us safe. We also strive to keep you informed of the new information and our decisions through daily updates so you can make the best decisions to keep you and your families safe.

As of 8pm yesterday, many of our bars, restaurants and other businesses face an uncertain future. After work, I made sure to visit many of our hometown establishments that are part of the fabric of our community. Each and every owner told me the exact same thing – we know there is sacrifice ahead but we will overcome. I ask you, the residents of Hamilton, to do your best and support our small businesses – the very backbone of our community.

From where I sit, your collective spirit is inspiring and makes me Hamilton Proud!

Jeff Martin
Mayor
