On Monday, March 7, Mayor Jeff Martin along with Police Division Chief James Stevens had the distinct pleasure of promoting Sergeant Kristin Seitz to the rank of Lieutenant, the first female to hold the position of Lieutenant in the history of the Hamilton Township Police Division.

“It is my honor and privilege to promote Officer Seitz as the first female Lieutenant of our HTPD. Lieutenant Seitz is a dedicated, committed member of the Police Division and most deserving of this promotion. The significance of this occasion is only heightened as we were able to promote her during Women’s History Month,” said Mayor Martin. “I wish Lieutenant Seitz well as she continues to serve and protect our community, and thank her for her service.”

A lifelong Hamilton resident, Lieutenant Seitz was hired by the Police Division in 2004, and was promoted to Sergeant in 2016. Serving her community this way is second nature for the HTPD Lieutenant-not only is her husband a retired Sergeant with the HTPD, her father Michael Kane is a retired Police Lieutenant and her brother Michael is a current HTPD Police Sergeant. She has served as the Department Historian, National LEAD Training Instructor, and is a recipient of the DARE New Jersey Chairman’s Award in addition to being awarded two lifesaving medals and two good conduct medals in her tenure with the Division. Lieutenant Seitz is the Director of Hamilton P.A.L.’s Safety Town program.

"As Chief of the Hamilton Police Division, I want to congratulate both Lieutenant Seitz and Sergeant DeVictoria on their well-deserved promotions," said Chief Stevens. "Both have earned the respect and admiration of the entire Police Division. They have worked hard to achieve this next step in their professional careers and both will serve the residents of Hamilton with distinction."

Police Officer Thomas DeVictoria was also promoted to the rank of Sergeant at this ceremony. Sergeant DeVictoria is a Marine Corps Veteran and an active member of the HTPD Anti-Crime Unit.
