The Hamilton Police Division has arrested Salil Wilson, a 19-year-old male from Philadelphia, in connection with a robbery / weapons offense, on November 19, 2024.

At approximately 3:30p.m., Officers responded to McDonald’s at 2603 S. Broad St. for reports of a disturbance.  The caller reported a male, later identified as Salil Wilson, came into the store, took a mobile order off the counter, then attempted to go behind the counter.  An employee attempted to stop him from entering the restricted area of the restaurant when Wilson pushed past him and continued into the kitchen area of the restaurant.  Wilson then took a large cup and began to fill it with a beverage.  Wilson then fled the store without paying prior to police arrival.

Shortly after, at approximately 4:30, police were called again and were told Wilson returned and again tried to take a mobile order from the counter.  The manager confronted him and told him he was not allowed to take mobile orders without paying.  Wilson did not take the mobile order this time but again went behind the counter, took a large cup and filled it with a beverage.   The manager confronted Wilson by the drink machine where Wilson assaulted him, striking him in the area of his right arm.  Wilson then proceeded into the dining area of the restaurant where he continued to harass the manager.  The manager then walked outside to deliver an order with Wilson following him, continually harassing him.  Another manager followed both men outside where an argument ensued amongst all three.

Hamilton Police Officers R. Piotrowski #497 and B. Buchalski #518 were first to arrive with Officers J. Mura #508 and R. McLaughlin #536 providing back up.  Officers were able to diffuse the situation and subsequently place Wilson under arrest.  Upon search incidental to arrest, Wilson was found to have a 9mm handgun with a high capacity magazine loaded with 12 hollow point bullets concealed in his waistband, as well as a small amount of narcotics.

Salil Wilson was charged with Robbery, Burglary, Unlawful Possession of a handgun, Possession of hollow point bullets, Theft and Possession of narcotics.

The Hamilton Police Division is committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community. We encourage anyone with additional information regarding this incident to contact Detective D. Inman #344 at 609-581-4035 or the Hamilton Police Crime Tip Hotline at 609-581-4008.
