Azeem Mark
Hamilton, NJ: On Friday, January 31, 2025 at approximately 10:51 AM Officers were dispatched to the Hamilton Train Station located at 800 Sloan Avenue on a report of stolen vehicle. The vehicle, a white Mercedes Benz had been stolen in Newark, NJ earlier in the day injuring Officers when it fled the scene. Upon arrival Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Train Station. When they approached the vehicle, they saw a black male lying in the driver’s seat with a blanket covering him. Officer unlocked and opened the driver door in an attempt to detain the male when he put the vehicle in drive and stepped on the gas ignoring Officers commands to stop and exit the vehicle. Two Officers were dragged to the ground by the vehicle and the suspect fled at a high rate of speed onto I-295 South. Officers were able to identify the suspect as Azeem Mark, 21, of Piscataway. Both Officers were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for their injuries. One Officer sustained a broken wrist, the other had minor injuries. Both were treated and released. The suspect and vehicle were later located in the area of Linda Place in Philadelphia where the suspect was placed under arrest.
Mark was charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of Weapon, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing the Administration of Law. He is currently in the custody of the Philadelphia Police Department.
