On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at approximately 11:13 A.M., the Hamilton Police Anti-Crime Unit conducted a search warrant on a residence in Winding Brook Apartments on Bradford Avenue after a month and a half investigation into narcotics trafficking. During the search Officers located two handguns, ammunition, suspected heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine, along with paraphernalia and $10,151.00 in US currency. Two people were inside the residence at the time of the search and were placed under arrest. They were identified as April Angelo, 34, of Hamilton and Jose Colon-Matos, 32, of Trenton.
They were both charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, two counts Possessing a Weapon while distributing CDS, Possession of Defaced Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute within 1000 Feet of a School, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Property ($10,151.00) Believed to be Derived from Criminal Activity. Colon-Matos was additionallly charged with two counts Unlawful Possession of Handgun/NERA Act and Certain Persons not to Possess a Firearm.
