Where Angels Play and Hamilton Township Set to Improve Apollo Park this September

Township News Posted on July 22, 2024

Hamilton Township is thrilled to announce its partnership with Where Angels Play, a non-profit organization, to unveil Clare's Corner at Apollo Park. Where Angels Play and Hamilton Township will be making improvements to Apollo Park in September, all at minimum cost to taxpayers.

Where Angels Play Foundation was founded by former NJFMBA President Bill Lavin after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, CT.  Bill’s idea was to build 26 playgrounds in Hurricane Sandy destroyed communities – one to honor the memory of each teacher or student lost that day in Newtown, CT.

The establishment of Clare's Corner marks a major accomplishment in the organization's continuous endeavors to improve public spaces and foster a sense of community, providing a welcoming environment for families to come together and build lasting memories.

“I want to thank Where Angels Play and the Easton Family for picking Apollo Park in Hamilton to locate Clare's Corner,” said Mayor Jeff Martin.” Apollo Park needed improvements and the new playground will be a warm and welcoming place for children and families for years to come. Plus, it is being done at minimal cost to taxpayers.”

The excavation of Apollo Park is set to begin in late July. Once it is completed, Clare's Corner will mark the second park in Hamilton to be developed by Where Angel’s Play, offering the community a vibrant and revitalized space for recreation and enjoyment while fostering a safe and inclusive environment for children and families.
