CHOP is coming to hamilton graphic with image of hamilton amc.Hamilton Township is pleased to announce the sale of property that was formerly occupied by the AMC movie theater (325 Sloan Avenue) to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  CHOP has a long history of delivering leading clinical care to children and families in central New Jersey and beyond, and is looking forward to continuing to serve this crucial region.

Hamilton Township and Mercer County are committed to supporting CHOP throughout the redevelopment process to ensure a smooth and timely transformation of the site. A thorough, collaborative process is underway to develop proposals for the future use of the property, which will be followed by the development of construction plans.

“Hamilton Township is excited to welcome CHOP to town,” said Mayor Jeff Martin.  “As a parent to a young child, I know the concern of every parent for their child’s health, and having CHOP here in our backyard ensures the children of Hamilton will always have easy access to the best possible medical care.  It has been great to partner with Mercer County and CHOP to make this first step a reality, and I am looking forward to our continued partnership through the redevelopment process.”

"Mercer County welcomes the news that a world-renowned healthcare institution like the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is coming to Hamilton Township and Mercer County,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “I was proud to work closely with Mayor Martin and with CHOP to turn an idea into reality and breathe new life into the old AMC site, while bringing good-paying jobs to our community and improving the health of our region's children."

“Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia serves children from throughout the region and around the world with the aim to make pediatric care available as close to home as possible,” said Madeline Bell, CEO, CHOP. “The health of New Jersey’s children is a key component of our overall mission, and we’re looking forward to the future of bringing high-quality care, expanded services and improved convenience to the families of Central New Jersey and the broader region. This step underscores our commitment to ensure healthier futures for all children.”
